In 2027, Volvo Trucks will celebrate its first century in business and, to mark the occasion, has created a special edition of its FH flagship. It is called the 100 Year Edition and is available on the FH Aero, FH, FH16 Aero and FH16 models, as a preview of the company’s centenary celebrations planned for 2027. The special edition introduces changes to both the interior trim and the vehicle’s exterior styling elements.
Inside the cab, the seats have been redesigned with a two-tone concept: a premium leather base and a dedicated anniversary embroidery on the upper section in grey fabric. Tan leather details, including the central divider, echo the colour of the stripes on the vehicle’s exterior paintwork. Vehicles in the special series also feature illuminated door sills and LED strips on the central dashboard, which can be adjusted to red or white ambient lighting. A new function projects a welcome light onto the ground when the door is opened, reproducing the same anniversary motif also found on the new speaker grilles made using 3D printing. The cab curtains show a sequence of Volvo models produced over the past hundred years, while the floor mat, thicker than the standard version, comes in a grey and black mélange finish with tan leather labels.
Customers wishing to order one of the 100 Year Edition models will be able to do so from September 2026 in most of the engine and chassis configurations already available. The Volvo FH has recently received updates to its electric, gas and diesel powertrains, with improvements in performance, range, energy efficiency and power output. "The special edition for the centenary is a celebration of what has been achieved over the past century, and it is a special vehicle in several respects," explains design director Jonathan Disley. "The interior is both modern and premium, as well as a tribute to our history. The design is inspired by the company’s Swedish heritage and by the professionalism built up through years of innovation, progress and customer trust." The 100 Year Edition joins a series of previous special editions, including the FH 25 Year Special Edition, the FH Aero Euro NCap Special Edition and the Ocean Race Limited Edition.
