On 17 February 2025, the Transmec Group, operating in road transport and logistics, announced the acquisition of STC (Servizio Trasporti Combinati) in Genoa from the Bertacchi family. STC is specialised in intermodal transport between Europe and the Maghreb. the Genoa-based company was founded in 1981 by Renato Bertacchi and successfully developed by his sons Fabrizio and Lorenzo. STC, specialising in land-sea intermodal solutions, has built an extensive network over the years, linking Europe, Tunisia, Morocco and France. today, it operates a fleet of approximately 550 semi-trailers, including curtain-sided, box, flatbed and refrigerated units. the company offers full-load and groupage transport, as well as advanced logistics solutions, customs and insurance services, facilitating import-export operations.
With the integration of STC, the Transmec Group now has a total fleet of over 1,500 industrial vehicles dedicated to the North African markets.
