New truck bans on Austria’s Brenner corridor
2 Aprile 2026 - Austria has updated and expanded its restrictions package for heavy goods vehicles on the A13 Brenner motorway. From 2 April to 2 October 2026, vehicles over 7.5 tonnes heading towards the state border will face bans on twelve days until 22:00 and on more than twenty Saturdays with morning restrictions, due to structural works on the Lueg bridge.

French road haulage sector protests over diesel price surge
1 Aprile 2026 - With diesel prices nearing €2.50 per litre, French hauliers have taken to the streets in protest. Slow-moving truck convoys have disrupted traffic on Paris’s Périphérique, filtered blockades have been reported on the A7, and demonstrations have slowed traffic in Lyon, Nantes and Clermont-Ferrand. Industry bodies Otre and Fntr are calling for structural support measures, warning that the €50 million aid package announced by the Government is insufficient.
