Chinese manufacturer Ohm Vehicles is presenting the new generation of its electric vehicles at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hanover, with a range aimed primarily at professional and urban applications. At its heart is an N1 platform available in two configurations, the Ohm S35 chassis cab and the Ohm C35, both with a gross vehicle weight of 3,500 kg and an 80 kW electric motor, including 40 kW of continuous power. "To demonstrate the versatility of the platform, in Hanover we have displayed three very different applications: an 18-metre aerial platform, a waste collection vehicle and a dropside body with a tail lift," explains Benjamin Vannier, Senior Key Account Manager & Business Development Europe at Ohm Vehicles.
The most interesting feature of the range is the chassis architecture. Ohm has developed a modular platform with open interfaces, designed to accommodate different bodies without requiring the vehicle to be redesigned for each application. The same base can therefore be used for waste collection, municipal applications, aerial platforms, suction services, snowploughs and salt spreaders, as well as temperature-controlled transport, with the aim of reducing development costs and speeding up vehicle availability.
For electric power, Ohm uses lithium iron phosphate batteries, with a 63.75 kWh pack. The configuration is designed to keep weight down through a lightweight casing while ensuring safety and durability. The claimed range is up to 255 km on the combined cycle and 310 km on the urban cycle. Charging has also been designed for professional applications: the vehicle supports AC charging at up to 11 kW and DC charging at up to 63 kW. Under optimum conditions, Ohm quotes around 44 minutes to charge from 20% to 90% state of charge.
The electronic management system provides the driver with three driving modes, Eco, Normal and Power/Sport, as well as several levels of energy regeneration, used mainly during deceleration and on downhill sections. A Hill Holder function is also included to assist with hill starts. The platform also features a dedicated e-PTO powered directly by the traction battery. A dedicated motor with 15 kW peak power supplies auxiliary equipment fitted to the vehicle, such as hydraulic systems, cranes, aerial platforms or waste collection equipment, without the need for an additional diesel generator.
Ohm is supporting the new range with a digital ecosystem covering connectivity, remote diagnostics, fleet management and assistance. The telematics platform enables real-time monitoring of battery status, state of charge, faults and vehicle parameters, while the my-Ohm system integrates assistance, maintenance and document management services. The vehicle also features an infotainment system running on the Android operating system and a central display.
