Yang Ming orders six container ships
Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation has signed a contract with South Korean shipyard Hanwha Ocean for the construction of six LNG dual-fuel neo-panamax container ships with a capacity of 13,000 TEU. The new vessels will be deployed on east-west routes and will operate alongside the existing fleet of 10,000 TEU units. The investment forms part of the fleet renewal programme approved by the company’s Board of Directors at the end of 2024. This is the second contract awarded to Hanwha Ocean, following the 2025 order for seven higher-capacity container ships. The new units will be built at the group’s South Korean yards, which are already working on vessels for Yang Ming. The aim of the operation is to replace units that entered service in the early 2000s with more energy-efficient ships.
Sedisp strengthens healthcare logistics
Sedisp is expanding its organisation with Sedisp Healthcare, a unit dedicated to hospital, pharmaceutical, medical and healthcare logistics. The new structure brings together expertise already developed in managing complex processes for companies and healthcare facilities. The offering includes specialised warehouses, batch and expiry-date control under the FEFO criterion, returns management, and the storage and handling of medical devices. Activities are also planned at healthcare facilities, including the replenishment of wards and operating theatres and services carried out directly at the customer’s premises. The technology component integrates WMS systems, RFID solutions, control dashboards and tools for monitoring indicators. Procedures are defined according to the customer, product type and operating context. Oversight covers the entire flow, from goods receipt to delivery, through to the management of exceptions. The aim is to reduce errors, delays and disruptions, ensuring that materials are available at the required times and locations.
Dachser expands Iberian presence
Dachser Iberia has acquired Transportes Agraz Hermanos, consolidating its presence in Castilla-La Mancha and strengthening its direct network in Spain and Portugal. The operation represents the evolution of a partnership launched almost 40 years ago with the development of the Azkar network, now integrated into Dachser. Founded in 1987, Transportes Agraz Hermanos operates in the province of Albacete, where it has developed expertise in freight distribution and in the region’s industrial sectors. The company has 19 employees, a fleet of 11 owned vehicles and more than 5,000 square metres of logistics infrastructure, including 3,471 square metres dedicated to operational and distribution activities. The integration will allow Transportes Agraz Hermanos customers to access Dachser’s European network and integrated logistics services more directly, widening opportunities for development in international markets. Once the acquisition has been completed, the company will be gradually integrated into Dachser Iberia.
