For the sixteenth consecutive year, Mercitalia Intermodal has secured Colgate-Palmolive’s contract for door-to-door transport between the Italian plant in Anzio and distribution centres in the Netherlands, France, Germany, and Great Britain. The annual agreement involves the use of six weekly trains departing from the Pomezia terminal and reaching Duisburg, a key logistics hub for Germany. This route represents a strategic corridor for the FS Group, which has witnessed a significant increase in shipments over the past fifteen years, growing from 2,000 to 10,000 shipments per year. This success has enabled the removal of approximately 20,000 trucks from the roads, leading to a reduction in CO2 emissions exceeding 46,000 tonnes annually. "The collaboration with Colgate-Palmolive, with dedicated services from the production plant to European distribution points, is the best example of our daily commitment," stated Sabrina De Filippis, CEO of Mercitalia Logistics. "This approach is reflected in our new strategic plan for 2025-29, through which we aim to position ourselves increasingly as a freight forwarder supporting the European industrial system, with a customer-centric approach and a sustainable end-to-end offering."
