DKV Mobility has completed the acquisition of Optimile, a Ghent-based company specialising in the development and management of digital platforms for electric mobility. The transaction, announced on 3 June 2026, strengthens the Group’s position in the European e-mobility market and expands its technological capabilities in charging services for fleets and professional operators. The shares were sold by BNP Paribas Fortis and AG Insurance, while the parties have not disclosed the financial details of the transaction.
With Optimile joining the business, the DKV Mobility Group now manages around 1.5 million charging cards and tokens and more than 260,000 charging points, including 112,000 public points. The Group’s roaming network provides access to more than 1.2 million charging points across the continent, while the total energy volumes handled by the Group’s companies - GreenFlux, Smartlab and Optimile itself - amount to around 1,400 million kilowatt hours.
Founded in 2016, Optimile has developed a modular Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform for electric mobility service providers and charging infrastructure operators. The platform integrates authorisation, verification, access management and pan-European roaming functions for charging points. The company also operates a consumer-facing solution under the Mobiflow brand. In the Belgian market, which DKV Mobility describes as one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing in Europe for electric mobility, Optimile has established itself as a leading operator.
For DKV Mobility, the acquisition forms part of a strategy to develop its electric mobility business that began more than ten years ago. The process started in 2015 with the launch of the DKV Card+Charge, the Group’s first integrated solution for electric charging. In 2021, it acquired GreenFlux, one of Europe’s leading providers of charging software. At the end of 2024, DKV Mobility entered into a strategic partnership with Smartlab, an Aachen-based company active in the aggregation, management and billing of charging systems, while also acquiring a majority stake in the business.
Sebastian Klauke, CEO of DKV Mobility, framed the transaction as part of efforts to simplify the entire value chain for business customers: by expanding its technology and service capabilities through Optimile, the Group aims to offer integrated electric mobility solutions, reducing operational complexity for operators managing fleets in transition to zero-emission drive systems. Sven Mehringer, managing director of DKV Mobility with responsibility for energy and vehicle services, highlighted the significant results achieved by Optimile under the ownership of BNP Paribas Fortis and AG Insurance, and said the Group’s objective is to continue along this growth path by further developing the acquired digital platform.
