At the beginning of May 2025, Dhl Group expanded its logistics activities serving e-commerce in both the UK and the US, in each case through acquisitions and mergers. In the United Kingdom, Dhl Ecommerce UK will merge with Evri, creating the country’s largest parcel delivery operator. At the same time, in the United States, Dhl Supply Chain has acquired Ids Fulfillment, a logistics specialist, with the aim of strengthening its services to small and medium-sized North American businesses.
The merger between Dhl Ecommerce UK and Evri will enable the new group, which will retain the Evri brand, to handle over two billion shipments per year, including parcels and business letters. The move aims to offer a broader and more competitive service portfolio, combining the flexibility and cost-effectiveness of Evri’s network with Dhl’s high-end van delivery capability, which will be integrated under the new Evri Premium brand. The synergy also includes extended international capacity thanks to Dhl Ecommerce’s global network, with around 150,000 access points and direct links to Europe, the United States and strategic markets such as India. A further development will be Evri’s entry into the business mail market, through the integration of UK Mail services. Additionally, the new group will operate the largest out-of-home collection and delivery network in the country, with over 15,000 active locations.
This expansion in the United Kingdom mirrors Dhl’s structural growth in the United States, where the acquisition of Ids Fulfillment adds more than 120,000 square metres of multi-client warehousing in strategic locations including Indianapolis, Salt Lake City, Atlanta and Plainfield, the headquarters of the acquired company. The acquisition is designed to expand access to advanced logistics services for small and medium-sized enterprises, a central focus of Dhl’s 2030 Strategy. Following the acquisition of Inmar’s reverse logistics division last January, this second move in 2025 further strengthens the group’s position as the leading returns management provider in North America.
