Dsv is expanding its global healthcare logistics network with a new dedicated air transport service between Europe and Asia. On 1 September 2026, the Danish logistics group announced the enhancement of its Air ThermoDirect service with a direct link for temperature-controlled goods between Luxembourg and Shanghai Pudong, specialising in the transport of pharmaceuticals and other temperature-sensitive healthcare products. The service includes multiple departures, with shipment planning, routing and handling managed in-house. The new connection uses modular, reusable thermal packaging, through which the company aims to reduce reliance on both active containers and conventional passive packaging.
Shanghai Pudong is a hub for Dsv for healthcare flows into and out of China. The airport already has a specialised cargo ecosystem: the Pactl Cold Fresh Processing Center, which obtained Iata Ceiv Pharma certification in 2016. For ground handling, Dsv uses Eastern Air Logistics for specialised facilities in Shanghai and China Eastern Logistics Cold Chain as its Gha partner for the cold chain.
The new air corridor is part of Dsv’s expansion strategy following its acquisition of DB Schenker, completed on 30 April 2025. In June 2026, Dsv had already launched a pharma route between Luxembourg and Indianapolis. The Shanghai route, together with further US routes announced for the future, points to a temperature-controlled network project centred on the Luxembourg hub, with capacity that the group intends to manage directly rather than buy from third-party carriers.
