Renault Trucks and Kleuster are strengthening the partnership launched in 2022 with the presentation of the Kleuster 350, a new electric cargo bike jointly developed to meet the needs of urban logistics. The model was unveiled at Solutrans 2025 in Lyon and expands the French manufacturer’s low-emission offering, integrating into its range of zero-emission industrial vehicles dedicated to last-mile operations. The German manufacturer explains that the Kleuster 350 was created to provide operators with a solution capable of combining operational agility, load capacity and controlled operating costs, elements considered central to urban distribution strategies.
The new electric tricycle is the result of Kleuster’s experience in developing professional cargo bikes and Renault Trucks’ industrial expertise in the design and production of commercial vehicles. The Kleuster 350 has been conceived according to industrial automotive standards, with particular attention to reliability and long-term durability. One of the key technical choices is a chainless transmission system, a solution that reduces maintenance requirements and helps improve the vehicle’s overall efficiency. The configuration also includes a swappable battery, offering a range of up to 35 kilometres per unit, designed to support intensive work shifts and continuous use.
In terms of chassis and handling, the vehicle is equipped with both front and rear suspension, designed to ensure comfort and stability even on uneven surfaces typical of dense urban environments. A turning radius of 2.4 metres allows high manoeuvrability in the confined spaces of historic centres and low-traffic zones, supporting fast and safe delivery operations. These features contribute to a particularly competitive total cost of ownership, highlighted by the manufacturer as one of the main points of interest for couriers, craftsmen and urban logistics operators.
On the regulatory and safety front, the Kleuster 350 complies with the European EN 17860 standard and integrates safety systems developed in collaboration with Utac. Before market launch, the model underwent an extensive testing programme which, according to Renault Trucks, is unprecedented in the cargo bike segment. Testing exceeded 30,000 kilometres and 1,440 hours of use at the independent Transpolis centre, with the aim of verifying the vehicle’s reliability and robustness under real operating conditions.
The Kleuster 350 range is offered in two versions, both with a payload capacity between 150 and 300 kilogrammes. The Box 350 is a closed, compact configuration designed for express courier services, food distribution and craft activities requiring load protection. The Pick-up 350 adopts an open platform with sides and removable extensions, intended for technical transport, urban maintenance, green space management and internal logistics applications. With the introduction of this new model, the Kleuster range now comprises seven professional configurations. All vehicles are designed in France and assembled at the Renault Trucks plant in Vénissieux.
