Sogedim strengthens its freight operations with Transtir

Sogedim announced on 19 November 2025 the completion of its acquisition of Transtir, a freight forwarder with sites in Carpi and Prato specialising in national and international transport and logistics services. According to the company, the acquisition consolidates the Group’s presence in two manufacturing-intensive regions and broadens its distribution capacity across national and European routes. Historically rooted in Lombardy and Piedmont, Sogedim is thus extending its operational footprint in Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany, reinforcing coverage of the main production axes in central-northern Italy.

The integration of Transtir brings to Sogedim more than forty years of experience in international forwarding, a diversified client base and in-depth knowledge of the industrial districts of Emilia and Tuscany. As highlighted by Emanuele Codazzi, Sogedim’s chief executive officer, the operation enables the Group to improve its responsiveness to companies’ needs and to enhance the competitiveness of its transport and logistics solutions while ensuring continuity in local relationships.

The acquisition increases the network density of road transport and intermodal services, offering optimised transit times and a wider warehousing infrastructure. Transtir will continue to operate under its own name and internal organisation, preserving its identity and managerial autonomy while benefiting from the Group’s operational synergies. As noted by Livio Selva, chief executive officer of Transtir, the partnership strengthens the company’s ability to generate value and to develop more integrated and resilient commercial relations.

Founded in 1978 in Carpi as a freight forwarding house, Transtir built its growth on an entrepreneurial model rooted in the Emilia region. A renewal phase began in 2015 with the arrival of Livio Selva, who initiated a process of internal reorganisation and digitalisation. Between 2016 and 2017 the company expanded its scope with the incorporation of F.lli Meoni of Prato, a specialist in services to Eastern European countries, and with the opening of its Milan branch initially dedicated to sea and air freight. In 2023 it inaugurated the logistics hub in Reggiolo, completing its operational infrastructure network.

Today the company operates from three main sites in Carpi, Prato and Milan, in addition to the new Reggiolo facility. It employs around sixty professionals and continues to grow its turnover, which reached €27.54 million in 2023 and €31.93 million in 2024, up 15.97 per cent, with a profit of €864,060 in the same year. Its offer includes national and international road transport in standard mode, express departures, full truckloads and dedicated services, with particular expertise on routes to Eastern Europe. The portfolio is completed by groupage and full-container sea freight, air freight, advanced logistics activities and dangerous goods transport under ADR regulations.

The Prato facility includes around 3,000 square metres of warehouses and 500 square metres of offices, with security systems operating twenty-four hours a day. Transtir is certified to Uni En Iso 9001:2015 and in 2022 launched a strategic partnership with Intersped Logistics in the United Kingdom to strengthen links with the British market. Its operational philosophy, encapsulated in the motto “go for easy”, aims to deliver integrated transport and logistics solutions based on digitalised processes and optimised flows.

The transaction with Transtir forms part of Sogedim’s broader strategy, which in November 2025 also saw the company complete the acquisition of Raben Italy’s Air & Sea division, effective from 1 November 2025. The integration of Raben’s specialists enables the Group to expand its sea and air freight offering and to consolidate connections with major international trade corridors.
