From 1 March 2025, Swiss Post has embarked on a major reorganisation of its freight logistics sector, introducing the new "Swiss Post Cargo" brand to the market. With this initiative, the company unifies previously separate services under a single identity, offering a comprehensive range of logistics solutions with an integrated and independent approach. This transformation enables Swiss Post Cargo to position itself as a full-service logistics provider, ensuring greater operational efficiency and optimised management of national and international freight flows for its customers.
In the initial phase of the reorganisation, PostLogistics, the group’s operational unit in Switzerland, along with two companies based in southern Germany, Bächle Logistics and Logistik Center Villingen, will immediately adopt the new "Swiss Post Cargo" brand, presenting a coordinated new image to the market. During the transition period, other affiliated companies will continue operating under their existing names, accompanied by the designation "Part of Swiss Post Cargo." These include the Portmann Group in France, Lemoli Trasporti in Italy, Nolden Logistics GmbH, OSA Logistik, and OSA Spedition in Germany. The complete transition is expected to be finalised by the end of 2027, when all units involved will operate under Swiss Post’s unified logistics brand.
The postal company emphasises that this transformation will not alter the management structures of its affiliated companies. The new group identity goes beyond a mere rebranding; it embodies a strategic vision focused on transparency, process optimisation, and an enhanced level of service for customers. The company also highlights that growth in the freight logistics sector plays a crucial role in offsetting the decline of the traditional mail market and in strengthening its presence in the transport and distribution industry.
Roland Heizmann, Head of Freight Logistics at Swiss Post, stated: "The smooth operation of freight flows and international supply chains is essential for our customers. We want to support them in the best possible way in their business activities and grow alongside them. This is why we are standardising our brand image and consolidating our services in our key markets, namely Switzerland and the major economic regions of neighbouring countries – Germany, Italy, and France." Heizmann further stressed that the new visual and organisational identity will enable Swiss Post Cargo to serve as a single point of contact for a wide range of cross-border logistics services, ensuring operational continuity and increasingly efficient management through digitalisation.
