At 12:30 pm on Tuesday, 11 February 2025, the first intermodal train set off from Interporto Cepim in Parma, establishing a direct connection between the Emilian facility and the Polish terminal of Brwinow, located approximately 25 kilometres southeast of Warsaw and managed by Hupac. This marks the launch of a service that will initially operate on a weekly basis, though plans are already in place to double its frequency. The trains, each 750 metres in length, are capable of transporting containers, P45 semi-trailers, and swap bodies. Operational management is handled by Adriafer, with the main client for the route being Futura Cargo, an Italo-Polish logistics company founded in 1998 in Pescara. The firm also has branches in Verona and in Poland, in Warsaw and Lodz. Complementing the direct rail link, Futura Cargo provides a door-to-door transport service, including road-based pick-up and delivery. From Poland, the Abruzzo-based company can further distribute cargo units to Scandinavia and Eastern Europe.
