Livorno-based Tco (Terminal Calata Orlando) has come under the direct control of the Fratelli Neri and Nova Marine Carriers groups. The transaction, announced on 14 September 2026, places the majority of the company in the hands of Nr Investimenti, a holding company owned in equal shares by the two groups, while the remaining stake continues to be held by the family of Roberto Alberti, a long-established shipping agent in Livorno. The aim of the transaction is to relaunch Tco, a multipurpose terminal operating at Calata Orlando, in the area of Livorno’s commercial port dedicated to bulk cargo traffic. Tco closed 2025 with revenue of €2.88 million, positive EBITDA of €212,000 and a net profit of €148,000. Volumes handled remained broadly stable compared with 2024, at around 700,000 tonnes, down 2.2%.
The terminal operates along a 450-metre quay divided into three berths, Orlando 49, 50 and 51, with water depths of 9 metres at the first two and 7.5 metres at the third. The entire facility covers around 32,000 square metres and is used for handling and storing breakbulk and bulk cargo. Facilities include a covered warehouse of around 2,000 square metres, with a stated capacity of approximately 8,000 tonnes, as well as an in-house workshop, a spare-parts warehouse and an area for storing equipment. Part of the open storage area is used as a customs warehouse for goods in temporary storage.
The new ownership structure follows a process that began last June, when Nova Marine Carriers, through its subsidiary Sider Navi, acquired a 25% stake in Tco from minority shareholder Maffei Sarda Silicati under an agreement signed in February. At that stage, the majority shareholder was Terminal Rinfusi Mediterraneo, with a 55% stake, while the third shareholder was Cis Spa, controlled by Roberto Alberti. Nova Marine Carriers is a shipping company operating in the dry bulk sector, headquartered in Lugano and led by chief executive Vincenzo Romeo. Fratelli Neri is a Livorno-based group with a long-standing presence in port and maritime services at the Livorno port.
