From 16 to 22 November 2026, European traffic police forces will once again carry out checks on lorries and buses during the third and final Truck & Bus enforcement campaign of the year, coordinated by Roadpol. The main priorities are overloading, compliance with driving and rest time regulations, and technical defects that could compromise road safety. Roadpol coordinates simultaneous operations by traffic police forces in participating countries, while inspections on the ground remain the responsibility of national authorities. Its Operational Working Group oversees coordination, data collection, trend analysis and the sharing of enforcement practices.
Other areas subject to inspection will include load distribution and securing, brakes, tyres, safety equipment, documentation and permits, tachograph use and possible tampering, and drivers' fitness to drive, including alcohol and drug testing. For the first time, the campaign may also cover light commercial vehicles, which have been subject to driving and rest time regulations since 1 July 2026 when operating in international transport.
