Dhl rents thirty eActros 600 trucks from hylane
Dhl Group, Daimler Truck and hylane have signed an agreement at Transport Logistic for the deployment of thirty Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 electric trucks. The vehicles will be rented through hylane’s pay-per-use model, which involves billing based on kilometres travelled. The trucks will enter service by the second quarter of 2026 within the Post & Parcel Germany division, operating between sorting centres. This marks the largest electric truck contract in Germany for 2025 and represents a significant expansion of hylane’s offering, which until now had been focused on fuel cell vehicles.

Two major logistics projects in North Rhine-Westphalia
Two former industrial sites in Cologne and Dortmund will be transformed into new logistics hubs to address the shortage of available space. In Cologne, Fusion Cologne and Thesauros Group will invest 250 million euros to build two multi-level buildings – Gateway and Crossroads – on a 101,000 square metre site, with completion scheduled by 2030. In Dortmund, Prologis will redevelop a 278,000 square metre area into the fully electric and sustainable Dortmund DC4ward logistics and business park, which will offer 130,000 square metres of new space distributed across seven buildings. Construction is set to begin by the end of the year.

Contargo has announced new intermodal rail connections starting in August: two weekly services between Krzewie in Poland and Dourges in France, and three between Duisburg and Dourges. The routes will handle containers, swap bodies and semi-trailers, including non-cranable units thanks to the R2L platform. CEO Jürgen Albersmann stated that the goal is to increase the share of continental traffic, driven by the shortage of drivers and the growing demand for sustainable solutions. New connections to the Adriatic region and Turkey are also under consideration.
