Evergreen containership loses 50 containers off Peru
Evergreen’s container vessel Ever Lunar lost around fifty containers overboard off the coast of Peru. The incident occurred while the vessel was anchored awaiting entry into the port of Callao. The company reported that the ship experienced a violent rolling motion, likely caused by a possible tsunami triggered by an earthquake in Russia, adverse weather conditions, or a sudden wave. Local authorities temporarily closed the port, causing brief disruptions to operations. None of the lost containers contained hazardous materials. According to the authorities, they were carrying plastic goods and do not pose an environmental risk.
Erenhot surpasses 20,000 China-Europe freight trains

New Fast Corridor activated between La Spezia and Padua
A new Fast Corridor has been activated between the port of La Spezia and the Padua inland terminal. The system enables the direct transfer of containers under temporary storage procedures, reducing customs clearance times thanks to shared digital technologies between the Customs Agency and the Interporto. This new rail link complements three others already active along the same axis and enhances the competitiveness of Padua’s logistics infrastructure. The project stems from cooperation between the Customs Agency, Interporto Padova Spa and industry operators.
Maersk diverts Far East service to Vado Ligure
Due to congestion in Ligurian ports, Maersk has announced that vessels operating its AE11 service, part of the Gemini alliance, will not be calling at Genoa Psa Pra’ at least until 23 September.
