Msc Air Cargo is considering an expansion into Germany?According to German magazine Dvz, the answer is yes, stating that chief executive Jannie Davel had indicated Frankfurt as a possible collection and loading platform for intercontinental services, with Hong Kong as the first Asian destination. At present, there is no evidence of any agreement to that effect, nor of any schedule for Msc cargo flights from German airports. Davel says this is an exploratory phase. Germany is being discussed as a country of arrival and departure for flights because the Msc group airline already operates there with an office and commercial and operational staff, as well as a road haulage network between German airports and the Liège hub. Davel also told Dvz that he has “open talks” with Lufthansa Cargo, although the latter has not confirmed this. The German airline told the newspaper that it maintains regular dialogue with industry operators.
Meanwhile, the growth of Msc Air Cargohas continued since it began operations in 2022. The company operates seven Boeing 777-200F aircraft, four on operating leases with crew through Atlas Air and three under its own Italian air operator certificate, the latest of which was delivered in March 2026. On 21 July 2026, at the Farnborough International Airshow, the carrier signed an order for five Boeing 777-8 Freighters, with deliveries expected in the early 2030s. The company has also developed a road haulage network between European airports, which also includes Italy.
Other recent developments include the partnership with Neutral Air Partner, formalised at the end of August, and the move of some flights from Fiumicino to Bucharest. In the first case, Msc Air Cargo is joining the international community of freight forwarders, consolidators and specialist operators active in more than 150 countries, enabling the airline to develop commercial relationships for scheduled air freight, special cargo, charter services and logistics projects. The move from Italy to Hungary took place in August and could be temporary. At Fiumicino, Msc Air Cargo operated two weekly frequencies to Hong Kong and Shanghai.
