Webfleet, the global fleet management solution by Bridgestone, has announced a partnership with Krone, one of Europe's leading trailer manufacturers, to provide an integrated telematics system through the Oem.connect programme. This allows operators of industrial vehicle fleets to connect Krone trailers directly to the Webfleet platform using technology pre-installed during production, thereby eliminating the need for subsequent hardware installations.
The two companies explain that integrating telematics into Krone trailers offers numerous operational benefits. Transport companies will gain real-time access to critical data concerning cargo units, enabling more efficient resource utilisation, reduced downtime, and improved security and load protection. Among the key features of the Webfleet-Krone integration are real-time position tracking and journey details, predictive maintenance to help prevent breakdowns and reduce downtime, load management to optimise available space and enhance operational efficiency, security monitoring with advanced trailer protection tools, and tyre pressure monitoring (Tpms).
One of the most significant aspects of the collaboration between Webfleet and Krone is the ease of system activation. Transport operators can integrate the solution directly from the Krone telematics platform, maintaining full control over their data without the need for additional installations or complex configurations. Maximilian Birle, Managing Director of Krone Digital, emphasised how this partnership provides customers with advanced telematics functionality through an intuitive interface, delivered by one of Europe’s leading fleet management solutions. With a simple click, transporters can access advanced data and analytics without incurring installation costs or experiencing operational downtime.
