Ignazio Messina & C will launch the West Med Line in September 2026, a new maritime service that will combine the routes previously dedicated to Algeria and Libya into a single network of connections in the western Mediterranean. The Genoa-based shipping company aims to strengthen its presence in the region, with shorter transit times for traffic from Suez thanks to calls at Misurata. Departures from Spain and France are scheduled roughly every ten days, with both direct connections and services via Genoa to the destinations covered by the new network, which reinforces coverage of the Spanish, French, Libyan and Algerian markets. The standard West Med Line rotation calls at Castellon, Barcelona, Fos, Genoa, Misurata, Tripoli, Misurata again and Algiers, before returning to Castellon. The first departures are scheduled for 6 September, with the vessel Libertas H sailing from Castellon, followed by Pacific Dalian, also departing from Castellon on 17 September.
