The European road policing network Roadpol has published the 2026 calendar of extraordinary Truck&Bus roadside inspection campaigns dedicated to industrial vehicles and buses. As in previous years, there will be three campaigns, each lasting one week. The first will start on Monday 9 February and end on Sunday 15 February, the second will take place between Monday 4 May and Sunday 19 May, and the third between Monday 16 November and Sunday 22 November. Countries involved include EU Member States, as well as Switzerland, Serbia and Turkey. In some cases, inspections will also involve officials from the Ela (European Labour Authority).
Checks will mainly be carried out on major motorways and main roads, in rest areas, ports, border crossings and logistics hubs. Inspections will focus on drivers’ driving and rest times, correct use of the tachograph, loads in terms of weight, dimensions and securing, the technical condition of vehicles, vehicle, company and transport documentation, and the driver’s employment profile.
The main violations identified in previous campaigns concerned driving and rest times, tachograph fraud, including digital manipulation, driving without a driver card and calibration issues, irregular cabotage, the absence of key transport documents such as Community licences and posting declarations, and forms of illegal work. Numerous vehicle irregularities were also found, in some cases requiring vehicles to be taken out of service.
