Chinese manufacturers had a substantial presence at IAA Transportation 2026, including in the commercial vehicle components sector. Cdtl exhibited its EA5000NP electric axle and Emb electromechanical braking system, the latter already fitted to vehicles in small-series production. The EA5000NP features two oil-cooled motors and a two-speed transmission, with independently controlled torque on the left and right sides and an electronic differential replacing the mechanical unit. The system operates on an 800 V architecture, delivering a rated output of up to 660 kW and a peak output of 900 kW. What Cdtl describes as distributed drive therefore involves independently managing torque on either side of the axle. The Emb braking system converts electronic commands directly into braking force at the wheels through electromechanical actuation, complementing the electric drivetrain in controlling vehicle movement. Cdtl claims a weight reduction of more than 100 kg compared with conventional systems, a braking distance approximately 10% shorter and energy consumption by the braking system itself up to 85.4% lower. The company develops and manufactures electric drive and actuation systems for commercial vehicles, drawing on 15 years of experience. Its portfolio includes electric axles and drive systems, Emb braking, electronically controlled steering and chassis systems, with applications in commercial vehicles, buses, special-purpose vehicles and Autonomous Rapid Transit (Art) public transport systems.
