In 2024, trucking in Italy will face minimal disruptions due to public holidays, with traffic bans affecting only two weekdays. The holidays of April 25th and May 1st fall on a Thursday and a Wednesday, respectively, providing an opportunity for extended weekends for those who can afford to take the time off. However, the trucking industry will not enjoy such breaks. On Thursday, April 25th, and Wednesday, May 1st, trucks weighing over 7.5 tons will be barred from the roads from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM. These restrictions align with the holidays themselves, ensuring that truck traffic does not interfere with public celebrations and road safety during these national days off. In addition to these holiday-specific restrictions, the usual Sunday traffic bans will also be in place on April 28th and May 5th, during the same hours from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM, as part of ongoing efforts to reduce weekend road congestion and enhance traffic management.
