The Italian forwarding company Laghezza closed the 2024 financial year with revenues surpassing 54 million euros, a 6.3% increase from the previous year, and an EBITDA margin of 8.4%. This result is particularly significant in a complex macroeconomic context marked by geopolitical uncertainties and pressures on the global logistics supply chain. Despite these challenges, Laghezza has remained steady while accelerating innovation and expanding its services.
At the heart of the company's activity is the Customs division, a historical strength. In this area, Laghezza made a technological leap in 2024 by winning the PR Fesr Liguria 2021–2027 funding with the project "Customs Islands and IT system integration for organisational and process innovation." The implementation of a new integrated IT infrastructure enabled the complete automation of procedures, boosting operational efficiency and paving the way for a more sustainable and digitalised management approach.
Simultaneously, the Customs Consultancy department has been growing, expanding its offerings with tailored solutions and training courses for businesses and professionals. These activities are consolidated under the Laghezza Academy brand, a new platform dedicated to developing expertise in the customs sector. In 2024, the Transport division also made significant strides, strengthening its fleet to nearly 100 units. Coverage was enhanced along strategic routes such as Vado Ligure, Livorno, and Venice, while the expansion of the refrigerated segment highlights an increasing focus on temperature-controlled transport, essential for sectors like food and pharmaceuticals.
The Logistics division also showed dynamism, capitalising on investments made in the La Spezia hinterland, bringing the Pratolino logistics platform to full operation. By the end of the year, the opening of a new hub in Pozzolo Formigaro was completed. This 12,000-square-metre strategic hub, with 5,000 square metres covered, is designed to efficiently serve the Ligurian ports and the routes leading to the markets of Northern Italy and Europe.
"Growth is driven not only by economic results and investments made, but also by significant territorial expansion," commented Alessandro Laghezza, president and CEO of the company. "This shift in scale will allow us to operate with greater reach, efficiency, and proximity to our clients, opening new development opportunities and consolidating our position as a key player in customs and logistics at a national level."
