At the start of 2026, Fercam launched its Air & Ocean service in Bologna, strengthening its presence in Emilia Romagna, one of Italy’s most productive regions with a strong international outlook. The move responds to the need to maintain a closer foothold in an area that makes a significant contribution to national GDP and to the competitiveness of Italian industrial supply chains in foreign markets. The new service is aimed at manufacturing and commercial companies in the region, offering air and sea freight with an approach centred on operational proximity and customised solutions.
The choice of Bologna is part of a territorial strengthening strategy designed to ensure faster decision-making and direct support for companies engaged in international trade. The Air & Ocean service is managed by a specialised team with a solid understanding of the local economic environment and is intended to support the management of global supply chains through specific expertise and operational continuity.
During 2025, the company focused its operational and entrepreneurial activities on three main pillars: the digitalisation of full truckload transport, geographical expansion in Italy and abroad, and the strengthening of sustainability and innovation projects. On the digital front, Fercam launched the instaFercam platform dedicated to FTL transport, enabling instant quotations, online booking, real-time shipment tracking and integrated document management. The platform forms part of a broader framework that includes the use of tools for transport assignment, the management of loading and unloading time slots and the testing of e-CMR for the dematerialisation of transport documents, with expected benefits in terms of operational efficiency and reduced environmental impact.
In 2025, Fercam also continued to expand its network. In Italy, attention focused on the South, with the opening of new operational branches, including one in Bari. At international level, the company strengthened its path of internationalisation through the consolidation of Fercam India, with new operational branches, and by continuing the overseas growth strategies already outlined in the 2024 results, with a specific focus on Air & Ocean services and international logistics.
A further area of action concerned investments in sustainability. During 2025, Fercam extended the use of electric vehicles and vehicles powered by alternative fuels, including biofuels, as part of its fleet renewal plan and ESG initiatives linked to the objectives of the 2030 Agenda. In terms of innovation, Fercam Future Labs collaborated with start-ups and emerging technologies in the logistics sector. At the same time, it strengthened the role of Echo Labs, a social enterprise created through a collaboration between Fercam and Dachser, which expanded its social innovation and circular design projects, linking cultural and educational initiatives to the group’s industrial strategy.
