The agreement for the joint venture was signed by Renault and Volvo in the fall of 2023, envisioning equal participation, with a commitment to invest 300 million euros each over the next three years. Subsequently, Cma Cgm signed a non-binding letter of intent to join the initiative with an investment of 120 million euros through its Pulse investment fund, which specializes in the decarbonization of transport and logistics. The aim of the new company is to start the production of electric vans by 2026 at the Renault plant in Sandouville. The platform for these vehicles has already been defined and is intended for urban deliveries. Unlike current models produced by Renault, which are based on existing diesel vehicles, these new vans are designed with an electric setup and could be based on the EZ-Flex prototype.
