Specialising in container road transport, Autamarocchi is strengthening its presence in intermodal rail freight through the acquisition of Fratelli Dissegna. The announcement, made on 23 January 2025, was accompanied by a statement from Oscar Zabai, Autamarocchi’s President, who said: “What struck me most about Dissegna Logistics is its young, highly professional, and customer-focused team. This approach, combined with our ability to offer competitive solutions, will allow us to build a service offering of the highest quality.”
Ilario Giovanni Dissegna, CEO of Dissegna Logistics, will continue to lead the company, overseeing growth initiatives and promoting the integration of services with the Autamarocchi Group. He remarked: “This union represents an extraordinary opportunity for both our operations and our organisation, taking our business beyond the family model that has defined us until now.”
Headquartered in Rossano Veneto, in the province of Vicenza, Dissegna Logistics has grown to become a European leader in intermodal transport. Originally specialising in maritime transport to the Greek peninsula, the company has evolved with a strong focus on innovation and sustainability. Today, Dissegna Logistics is distinguished by its extensive network of rail connections. In addition to intermodal transport, the Vicenza-based company offers road and temperature-controlled logistics services, ensuring transit across Europe, with particular emphasis on Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, and the United Kingdom.
This acquisition continues the expansion strategy pursued by Autamarocchi throughout 2024. In May 2024, the company forged an alliance with Fratelli Cosulich through its subsidiary Lorma Logistic, establishing the joint venture AL Steel Transport to develop steel road freight services via its Mestre branch. In November, Autamarocchi opened a branch in Hamburg—its third in Germany after Munich and Duisburg—aiming to strengthen container road transport operations for German ports.
