On 22 May 2025, Mercedes-Benz Trucks introduced Remote 3.0, an advanced digital interface between the truck and the driver, accessible via smartphone and designed to provide real-time operational data for the daily management of vehicles. Initially launched for the electric eActros 600, the app is set to be rolled out to additional models, such as the new Actros L and the Arocs, by summer 2025. To use the app, an active TruckLive service contract is required, along with the onboard presence of the Multimedia Cockpit Interactive 2 system and the Truck Data Centre 8 module.
In practical terms, Remote 3.0 enables drivers to easily and intuitively check the overall status of the vehicle via smartphone, both within national borders and abroad. The available information includes mileage, tyre pressure, compressed air levels, and in future updates, fuel and AdBlue levels for conventionally powered vehicles.
For the eActros 600, the app also delivers detailed insights into the battery’s state of charge, the remaining range, and the estimated time needed to reach a predefined charge level. While charging, the driver can monitor progress in real time, receiving notifications to signal the start, interruption, or completion of the process. This feature allows for more efficient planning of breaks and routes, helping to reduce downtime.
Beyond technical data, Remote 3.0 offers additional features aimed at enhancing driver convenience. During rest periods, for example, it is possible to check whether doors and windows are properly closed. Further functions will be introduced gradually over the coming months, broadening the app’s range of capabilities.
The pairing process between the vehicle and the phone has been streamlined to the maximum: a QR code generated by the onboard system can be scanned, removing the need to manually enter credentials or codes. In cases where multiple drivers use the same vehicle, the app can be quickly unpaired either through the secondary display of the digital dashboard or by using the driver’s card.
Compatible with mobile devices running iOS 15 and Android 9 or later, Remote 3.0 is available in more than 13 languages and can be downloaded free of charge from official app stores. It can also be integrated with the TruckLive system, thereby expanding the vehicle’s connectivity and facilitating interaction between fleet managers and on-the-road personnel.
