From the first quarter of 2027, Rhenus will bring together its domestic and international transport, freight forwarding and warehousing operations at a single facility within the Interporto di Padova logistics hub, covering 10,000 square metres. The project was presented at Green Logistics Expo, an event of which Interporto di Padova is one of the main promoters. The facility will accommodate road transport, air and sea freight forwarding, storage and specialised services, including Special Delivery and Transport Related Warehousing. Rhenus already operates in the Padua area, including outside the intermodal hub, and the new facility will consolidate two existing warehouses: one in Corso Spagna, with 2,008 square metres of covered space plus offices, and another in Via Settima Strada, with 2,910 square metres of covered space plus offices. The current sites are approximately two and five kilometres from the new facility, allowing operations to be transferred gradually while maintaining service continuity.
The facility's layout includes 1,000 square metres of offices across several floors, 3,500 square metres for road transport, 3,000 square metres for Transport Related Warehousing, with approximately 3,000 pallet spaces, 2,000 square metres for Special Delivery and 500 square metres for ADR dangerous goods. The site has more than 30 loading bays, two charging areas for lithium-powered forklift trucks and battery-charging stations. Interporto di Padova lies along the European Mediterranean and Baltic-Adriatic transport corridors, with access to the A4 and A13 motorways and convenient connections to Venice and Verona airports. Rhenus intends to use these road and rail links, together with its global network, to serve the Italian and European markets.
Internationally, Rhenus opened an Aid & Relief office in Dubai on 14 October 2026, within Dubai Humanitarian, which the group describes as the world's largest humanitarian hub. It is Rhenus's first permanent presence at the facility and follows the launch of its humanitarian logistics services in the United Arab Emirates earlier this year. During 2026, the group began operating within Dubai Humanitarian, developed regional and cross-border transport solutions, obtained a Dubai Humanitarian Free Zone licence and expanded its network of partners in the sector. The Aid & Relief team will manage air, sea and road shipments of essential supplies for relief operations, including medical and pharmaceutical products, food aid, temporary shelter materials and emergency response equipment.
