Raben Italy, a road transport company specialising in domestic and international groupage services, has added a logistics platform in Pomezia to its Italian network, strengthening its presence in central and southern Italy, an area the company identifies as having high freight traffic volumes, and bringing its services closer to customers in Lazio. The hub also handles domestic freight flows, improving connections with other facilities in the network, particularly Bologna, a key transit point between northern and southern Italy and for shipments to central and eastern European markets. The My Raben platform allows customers to track shipments in real time and check estimated arrival times, while myOrder provides instant quotations. Smartour is designed to improve operational efficiency by coordinating deliveries and facilitating their planning, while drivers use handheld devices that provide continuous updates on delivery status.
The decision to establish a hub in Pomezia reflects the need to handle growing volumes and maintain the required service standards locally. Lorenza Cantaluppi, Sales Director at Raben Italy, explained that the company's strategy focuses on strengthening both domestic connections and its European network. She said that direct import and export services now operate from Rome to several European destinations. Lazio, she added, is a dynamic market, with strong commercial activity and a business community geared towards international trade, while "demand for logistics services supporting imports and exports continues to offer opportunities for growth".
