Raben Italy has strengthened the role of its Bologna hub within its national and international network. The facility in Emilia-Romagna is becoming a central point for connections between northern and southern Italy, as well as for European corridors to Germany and Poland, two key markets for trade flows. The initiative forms part of the development strategy of the Italian Business Unit of Raben Group, an operator that has been active in international groupage transport for more than ninety years.
Thanks to its geographical position and network of daily connections, the site in Emilia-Romagna enables regular departures to several European countries, with particular focus on Central and Eastern European corridors. Direct links with numerous logistics hubs in Germany and Poland allow widespread distribution across both countries, with delivery times generally ranging between 48 and 72 hours. Flows along these routes exceed 250 shipments per day.
The Bologna branch also plays a fundamental role within the domestic network of Raben Italy. Many shipments from central and southern Italy converge here, where they are consolidated and then forwarded along the main national and international distribution lines. The site has been designed to support growing volumes and to ensure high operational standards in the management of logistics flows.
Around thirty employees work at the facility, including office staff, warehouse operators and drivers. This team manages the daily activities of receiving, consolidating and distributing goods, coordinating connections with other platforms in the network. Operational activities are supported by digital tools developed by the group. These include the myRaben platform, which allows customers to check the status of shipments and obtain an estimated time of arrival, and myOrder, used for rapid quotation requests.
These are complemented by the Smartour system for organising delivery routes, while drivers use handheld devices to update operational information. The Tislog system, based on GPS technology, also enables vehicle tracking along transport routes. The logistics offering also includes the Mystock service dedicated to contract logistics activities. Through this platform, customers can entrust the storage of goods to Raben Italy warehouses, integrating warehousing operations with distribution and transport services.
"The strengthening of the Bologna hub represents a fundamental step in our growth path in Emilia-Romagna and in reinforcing connections across the Italian territory and between Italy and Central and Eastern Europe," explains Yari Pioletti, Branch Manager of the Bologna branch. "Thanks to daily connections to Germany and Poland and to a modern and well-organised facility, we are able to offer fast delivery times and a reliable service with comprehensive coverage within 48–72 hours".
