Girteka has signed an agreement with Mercedes-Benz Trucks for the supply of 500 Actros L ProCabin units, with deliveries scheduled throughout 2026. The road tractors will be deployed in the Lithuanian group’s European long-haul operations, supporting both fleet renewal and the expansion of operational capacity. The agreement comes in the year of the company’s 30th anniversary and forms part of a defined and selective growth strategy. The move aims to strengthen direct control over the vehicles used in international transport flows and to consolidate the company’s presence in higher value-added segments.
According to chief executive Pavel Kveten, the new heavy-duty vehicles align with the group’s operational standards and will help improve efficiency, safety and driver comfort. The addition of the 500 units will particularly support activities linked to temperature-controlled transport, urgent shipments and high-value goods, sectors in which reliability and execution quality represent key competitive factors.
The agreement with Mercedes-Benz Trucks complements a broader investment programme. In recent months, the Lithuanian transport operator signed a €74 million financing agreement with Aka Bank, a German institution specialising in international trade. The transaction, backed by a guarantee from Credendo (Belgian Export Credit Agency), will partly finance the purchase of 1,200 next-generation trucks. In a European market characterised by selective demand and pressure on margins, access to guaranteed financing lines represents a key factor in supporting large-scale investment while maintaining financial balance.
