Geotab announced on 12 February 2026, during Geotab Connect in Las Vegas, the expansion of its video telematics portfolio with the new GO Focus Pro dash cam. Designed for commercial vehicle fleets, the device combines 360-degree visibility with AI-based predictive risk detection systems to help prevent accidents, reduce operating costs and strengthen driver safety. It is scheduled to become available in the second quarter of 2026 in North America and the EMEA region, with a subsequent global roll-out.
The announcement comes amid mounting pressure on professional drivers. According to research conducted by Geotab, 99% of commercial vehicle drivers in Europe report working under unprecedented levels of pressure, while acknowledging the safety benefits of video telematics. Additional data released by the company indicate that 95% of drivers believe road risks have increased over the past five years, identifying work-related stress as one of the factors with the greatest impact on reduced safety. Economically, road accidents in Europe generate an estimated cost of €180 billion per year, equivalent to around 2% of the European Union’s GDP.
GO Focus Pro is designed to address both high-impact events, with significant human and financial consequences, and low-speed incidents such as reversing manoeuvres or coupling operations, which are often caused by blind spots and limited visibility. The device combines full vehicle video coverage with real-time in-cab alerts, encouraging immediate driver self-correction and enabling a more proactive approach to risk management by fleet managers.
GO Focus Pro is natively integrated into the MyGeotab platform and supports up to five weather-resistant auxiliary cameras, capable of monitoring the vehicle, driver, load, surrounding area and trailer. The AI models also operate through external cameras to detect red-light violations, forward collision risks and the presence of vulnerable road users in blind spots. The system also includes an automated driver assessment tool that identifies repeated infringements and risky behaviours, such as mobile phone use or signs of fatigue, enabling targeted training activities. The Smart Sequence function provides a structured selection of the most relevant fleet events, reducing redundant data and limiting review activities.
Additional features include real-time audio alerts for drivers and the ability for fleet managers to assign and verify coaching sessions directly within the platform. Automatic driver identification can be carried out via RFID or NFC cards already in use, or through facial recognition, with the aim of simplifying administrative processes and improving data accuracy. A reversing assistance system with latency-free video transmission is also included, supporting low-speed manoeuvres and coupling operations.
Geotab stresses that the analysis process is entirely AI-based and does not require systematic reviews by human operators. According to Claude Hochreutiner, Principal Video Program Manager at Geotab, “artificial intelligence has the greatest impact when it helps prevent risks in the moment, not after accidents have occurred”. The integration of real-time processing within the vehicle is therefore intended to increase driver awareness and support a safety management model based on prevention.
GO Focus Pro joins Geotab’s GO Focus dash cam family, which also includes GO Focus, GO Focus Plus and a range of compatible auxiliary cameras. The company notes that the entire portfolio enables fleets to tailor the level of video telematics according to different vehicle types, risk profiles and use cases, while maintaining a consistent operational workflow and compliance with privacy protection requirements.
