Forto, the European provider of digital solutions for international transport, has appointed Matteo Caiti as its new Country Manager for Italy. The announcement was made in October 2025 during a customer event held in Milan, which brought together industry representatives to discuss key trends in international trade and the role of digital platforms in the efficient management of supply chains. The event gathered around one hundred participants and explored major global challenges, including the effects of geopolitical uncertainty, rising logistics costs and the growing importance of digitalisation for greater transparency in international flows. The discussion focused on how tools such as Ship by Forto can help identify bottlenecks, automate processes and enhance the resilience of supply chains.
“Our goal is clear: to establish Forto in Italy as a trusted logistics partner by optimising processes and implementing digital and AI-driven solutions,” said Matteo Caiti. “With the Ship by Forto platform, companies can book, track and manage shipments digitally and transparently, reducing administrative workload while maintaining full control of their consignments at every stage.”
Caiti brings over fifteen years of experience in managing international supply chains and global sales. Before joining Forto, he held senior positions at Kühne+Nagel, where he coordinated end-to-end transport operations and led digital transformation projects focused on cloud-based logistics technologies. According to Forto’s CEO, Guillaume Petit-Perrin, the appointment marks “a decisive step in the company’s growth in Italy, thanks to the combination of operational expertise and digitalisation skills that Matteo will bring to the local team.”
Founded in Berlin in 2016, Forto now works with more than 2,500 European customers across a wide range of sectors, from SMEs to large multinational groups. Since 2022, the company has operated an office in Milan managing sales and customer service for the Italian market, with a focus on sea and air freight. “Italy is a strategic market for Forto’s growth,” added Petit-Perrin. “Under Matteo’s leadership, we aim to further strengthen our presence, combining operational excellence and digital innovation to make shipping simpler, more reliable and more advantageous for Italian businesses.”
