Enilive Austria announced on Monday, 3 August 2026, the opening of its new Truck Point in St. Marienkirchen bei Schärding, the first HGV parking area in Austria to obtain Gold certification under the European SSTPA (Safe & Secure Truck Parking Areas) standard. The site is located on the A8 Innkreis motorway (E56), at the Schärding-Suben exit, near the border crossing with Germany, on one of the continent’s busiest freight corridors.
The facility offers 74 spaces next to an Eni-branded service station. Drivers have access to modern toilets, showers, washing machines and dryers, as well as a lounge area with free Wi-Fi. Dedicated power connections are available for refrigerated vehicles, designed to ensure continuous supply even during longer stops. Spaces at the Truck Point can be booked online through the Travis Road Services and Bosch Road Services platforms, which are integrated into the site’s booking system. The entire yard is illuminated, monitored by video surveillance and equipped with modern access control systems. These features enabled Enilive to obtain, for this facility, the country’s first Gold recognition under the SSTPA standard, developed at European level to raise security standards in HGV rest areas.
The opening of the St. Marienkirchen site is not a standalone project. Enilive has won a European Union tender to upgrade five rest areas across Austria, Italy and Germany, of which this is the first to become operational. Funding comes from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) programme, through the project named “24-EU-TG-Enilive Step Areas”. The Austrian Truck Point is located on the Rhine-Danube corridor, on the motorway section between Wels and the Suben border crossing towards Germany.
