The new ERP4.0-7.0mxlg electric forklift series presented on 10 December 2025 by Yale Lift Truck Technologies introduces a model designed for both indoor and outdoor applications, with capacities ranging from 4 to 7 tonnes. According to the company, the choice of integrated lithium-ion batteries and a simplified design layout improves operational continuity while reducing the burden of energy management. The series enters a market segment where demand for robust electric solutions suitable for mixed environments continues to grow, particularly in warehouses combining indoor storage with yard handling operations.
Versatility is the core focus of the new range. As explained by Robert O’donoghue, the company’s Emea marketing manager, an increasing number of operators are looking for trucks capable of performing a wide variety of tasks efficiently, from outdoor loading to picking and handling in indoor aisles. Against this backdrop, the manufacturer has opted for oversized super-elastic tyres, increased ground clearance and a compact chassis that allows controlled manoeuvring even in confined spaces.
The traction system uses a permanent magnet motor, a solution well suited to applications involving frequent stop-and-start cycles. The integration of lithium-ion batteries enables rapid opportunity charging during operational breaks, without dedicated areas and without the constraints typical of lead-acid batteries. This feature meets the need for continuity in logistics flows, reducing idle time and allowing simpler, more predictable energy management. The five-year or 7,500-hour warranty indicated by the manufacturer retention of 70% of nominal capacity over the covered period, an important factor for those carrying out total cost of ownership analyses.
Attention to operator comfort is reflected in the option to install ergonomic cabins configured for variable weather conditions, useful for yard operations or intermodal terminals. The combination of suspension, oversized tyres and protection from the external environment helps to reduce operator fatigue and maintain consistent levels of handling precision. Lower noise levels and the absence of exhaust emissions also improve the working environment, an important consideration for sites with high staff density or where overall environmental impact needs to be limited.
The ERP4.0-7.0mxlg series follows the same approach as the previous ERP20-35mxlg range, known for its simple construction, controllability and contained operating costs. The move towards higher capacities broadens application possibilities, from bulky material storage areas to support activities in manufacturing plants and logistics hubs operating on continuous cycles. The independent dealer network also ensures service and spare parts availability, a central element for planning routine maintenance.
