The seventh caisson for Genoa's new seawall has been successfully installed after being transported by sea from Vado Ligure to offshore Sampierdarena. The delicate operation succeeded despite challenging weather and marine conditions, thanks to over 150 personnel involved in the project. Work continues on seabed stabilization with over 19,200 submerged gravel columns, crucial for structural stability. Additionally, dredging activities are ongoing to deepen the access channel, enabling entry for larger-draft vessels. Concurrently, the existing breakwaters are being repositioned to protect the new structure.
