On 25 September 2025, Transporeon, part of the Trimble Group, launched its new Transport Planner tool, designed to generate optimal transport plans faster and at lower cost than traditional systems. At the same time, it expanded the functionalities of Freight Marketplace, Execution & Visibility and Dock & Yard Management, presenting a modular, integrated transport management system built to make extensive use of artificial intelligence.
The new Transport Planner allows shippers and carriers to streamline freight allocation, supported by integration with Autonomous Procurement and Autonomous Quotation. These functions fully automate quotation, negotiation and spot shipment management. Meanwhile, the Transporeon Visibility solution has been updated with advanced tracking tools for sea and air freight, including demurrage and detention management.
Within Freight Marketplace, a next-generation search system has been introduced, using predictive algorithms and market data to support more effective contracting decisions, including multi-lane operations. Thanks to integration with Market Insight, users can access up-to-date data to issue multi-lane RFQs and strengthen strategic freight planning.
For yard operations, Time Slot Management has been enhanced with a single carrier access interface, while the new Yard Pre-Check-In and Digital Transport Documents modules eliminate paper use, enabling fully digitalised loading and unloading procedures. According to Transporeon, AI-driven solutions cut administrative tasks and boost operational efficiency. Some customers have already reported a 20% increase in load capacity through Time Slot Management and a 40% reduction in order status update requests via Transporeon Visibility.
The new modular TMS is based on three principles: a network connecting 158,000 carriers and 1,400 shippers and retailers, avoiding costly one-to-one integrations; a modular design allowing selective activation of solutions; and an open architecture enabling smooth integration with external systems. Pricing is usage-based, eliminating fixed licences and allowing companies to pay only for the services they use.
Jonah McIntire, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Trimble Transportation & Logistics, said the new innovations deliver “an agile TMS designed for the AI era”, with real-time visibility ensuring greater control over the entire transport cycle. Philipp Pfister, Sector Vice President at Transporeon, stressed that the new system enables customers to adapt the platform easily to their needs, while cutting costs and strengthening the connected operator network.
