Savino Del Bene has acquired Sealogic B.V. and Misan Logistics B.V., two operators headquartered in Schiedam, in the port area of Rotterdam, expanding its portfolio of locally owned freight forwarding and logistics companies. The aim is to reinforce its presence in the Netherlands and create a new operational hub in Rotterdam. The two acquired companies bring specialist expertise in ship spare parts logistics and project cargo, segments characterised by high operational complexity and a strong service component.
Sealogic has been active since 1997, with headquarters and a bonded warehouse in Schiedam, around ten minutes from the port of Rotterdam. It operates in sea and air freight forwarding, warehousing, onboard deliveries and customs clearance, integrating storage, order picking and value-added logistics services. The company holds ISO and AEO certifications, strengthening its ability to manage international flows through simplified customs procedures.
The core of Sealogic’s business is focused on the maritime and cruise sectors. The company specialises in onboard delivery of spare parts and supplies for cruise ships and offshore units, an activity that requires coordination between international shipments, documentation management, tight deadlines and direct access to quays. The presence of its own bonded warehouse allows goods to be handled under duty suspension, optimising release times and reducing intermediate steps. The contractual terms applied include the Dutch Forwarding Conditions, the CMR, the Dutch Warehouse Conditions and the Logistics Services Conditions, in line with standard practice in the Dutch market.
Misan Logistics has a complementary profile. Its forwarding activities began in 2006 as an internal department of Misc Agencies Netherlands, linked to the Malaysian group Petronas/Misc, to support Oil & Gas project shipments and ship spare parts logistics for the fleet. The company was incorporated as an independent entity in 2008 and, following Misc’s withdrawal from liner activities in 2009, continued its development until a change of ownership in 2017, when it moved to its current premises in Schiedam.
Today Misan offers a broad range of services: project cargo management, supply chain solutions, FCL and LCL sea freight, NVOCC services, conventional transport, air freight, road, rail and barge transport, as well as warehousing services, CFS, container loading and unloading operations and customs formalities. The company works with shipping lines and airlines to secure capacity and provide multimodal solutions on a global scale.
The location of both companies in Schiedam places them within the Rotterdam logistics cluster. Proximity to the port provides direct access to maritime terminals, while connections to the road and rail network and relative closeness to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport support integration across different transport modes. In ship spare parts logistics, where delivery times are often critical and linked to berthing windows, reducing the physical distance from the port is a key operational factor.
This dual acquisition forms part of Savino Del Bene’s international expansion strategy through locally owned companies. The establishment of an operational hub in Rotterdam could have implications for the group’s wider European network. Financial details and the scope of the transaction have not been disclosed.
