Renault is preparing to take centre stage at Solutrans 2025 in Lyon, opening on 18 November. During the trade fair dedicated to industrial and commercial vehicles, the French manufacturer will unveil the final version of the new Trafic Van E-Tech electric and the expanded Converted by Renault programme, which offers factory-built conversions with full manufacturer warranty and reduced delivery times. Alongside the new electric van, Renault will showcase the Renault 4 E-Tech electric Van in its “business” configuration, introduced for the first time with two exclusive liveries and designed with a focus on modularity and sustainability.
The new Trafic Van E-Tech electric marks the first generation of fully electric Renault vans produced at scale. Built on a skateboard platform, it combines compact dimensions and urban agility with improved load capacity, made possible by the rear-mounted motor and shorter overhang. The 800-volt system enables charging from 15% to 80% in around twenty minutes, offering up to 450 kilometres WLTP with the long-range NMC battery, or about 350 kilometres with the rare-earth-free LFP battery. The 150 kW, 345 Nm motor delivers strong performance with controlled consumption.
The new SDV (Software Defined Vehicle) architecture, developed by Ampere, makes the Trafic E-Tech a connected, remotely updatable vehicle featuring V2L (Vehicle to Load) and V2G (Vehicle to Grid) technologies to power external devices or feed energy back into the grid. Manufactured in France at the Sandouville plant, the van introduces a completely redesigned cabin, rational load spaces and advanced safety systems, supporting the digital management of corporate fleets.
The launch of the new model is accompanied by an expansion of the Converted by Renault programme, the industrial evolution of the brand’s long-standing expertise in professional conversions. Adaptations – such as interior fittings, technical equipment or specific customisations – are carried out directly in Renault plants or in Qstomize workshops operating at the end of the line. This integrated approach reduces delivery times and costs while ensuring quality and conformity to manufacturer standards.
According to Zakaria Zeghari, vice-president for sales and marketing of Renault light commercial vehicles, the Converted by Renault programme covers the most in-demand conversions for professional customers, offering tailor-made vehicles while maintaining full factory warranty. After the success of the project on the Master, the initiative is now being extended to the new Trafic Van E-Tech electric. Alongside ready-to-use solutions, Renault relies on a network of 300 approved bodybuilders, selected through strict quality and management criteria, to develop customised projects. Approval, valid for three years and subject to annual audits, allows the supply of converted vehicles certified by the manufacturer, meeting high standards of safety and functionality.
The French brand consolidates its position in the professional conversion segment by offering a complete range of vehicles – from Express and Kangoo to Trafic and Master – with volumes from 3.3 to over 20 cubic metres, different lengths and heights, thermal or electric powertrains, and front- or rear-wheel drive. Each model is designed to facilitate customisation during production and meet the needs of diverse sectors, from refrigerated transport to emergency services, public works and mobile workshops.
The Renault 4 E-Tech Van, unveiled in September 2025 and making its public debut in Lyon, offers up to 409 kilometres WLTP, improved load capacity and a payload of 345 kilograms. The Reversible Fleet version enables a rapid shift from commercial layout to a five-seat configuration, while the Fleet Van version prioritises cargo space. Both are manufactured in France and integrated into the Qstomize programme following eco-design principles.
