On 30 July 2025, the German manufacturer Kamag presented the new generation of its PrecisionTractor 201 terminal tractors, an evolution of the model launched in 2021, featuring improvements in ergonomics, safety, performance and environmental sustainability. One of the most innovative aspects is the redesigned driver’s cab, developed with ergonomic principles to ensure a comfortable working experience even during long shifts.
The spacious panoramic workstation provides 360-degree visibility, while the suspension system reduces vibrations and driver fatigue. The air-suspended seat features an adjustable lumbar support and, upon request, integrated heating, and is combined with a control panel designed for intuitive and rapid access to the main operational functions. Access to the cab is made easier by a low entry height and wide, secure steps, contributing to both safety and efficiency.
Kamag highlights operator protection as another key strength of the new model. The vehicle complies with the latest European safety standards for commercial vehicles (ECE R29), offering reinforced occupant protection. LED lighting, combined with adjustable, wide-angle and auxiliary mirrors, enhances visibility and reduces the risk of accidents during daily manoeuvres, especially in poorly lit or confined environments.
The Kamag PT 201 is powered by a Deutz TCD 5.2 L4 diesel engine, enabling it to reach a top speed of 40 kilometres per hour. At the core of its operational capability is a height-adjustable hydraulic fifth wheel, allowing quick coupling of loads with a lifting speed of 50 millimetres per second. The vehicle can handle tight curves thanks to a reduced turning radius and a steering angle of up to 52 degrees, while hydrostatic drive ensures smooth, wear-free manoeuvres, improving overall productivity and reducing handling times.
The new terminal tractor meets today’s sustainability requirements through effective coordination between the engine and exhaust gas treatment system, along with compatibility with HVO fuels. Kamag has simplified maintenance: the hydraulically operated tilting cab provides direct access to key mechanical and hydraulic components, making servicing easier and helping to minimise vehicle downtime. This results in greater operational availability and more efficient fleet management.
