On 3 October 2025, Dachser officially opened its new logistics centre in Parma, a 12,200-square-metre facility that, for the first time in Italy, brings together under one roof the Dachser Italy Food Logistics division and the activities of Dachser & Fercam Italia, the joint venture launched in 2024. The branch combines transport and warehousing for temperature-controlled and ambient food products, alongside the management of flows for industrial and consumer goods.
Located in an industrial area with direct access to the motorway junction, the site consists of two buildings: one of 5,000 square metres with a 2,000-square-metre cold storage area dedicated to the food sector, and another of 7,200 square metres for general merchandise. This configuration allows the company to meet different needs while maintaining consistent standards of operational efficiency and food safety.
According to Dachser Italy Food Logistics, Parma was chosen as a strategic location due to its proximity to the Food Valley production district, a region with a strong agri-food and export vocation. The city, which also hosts the European Food Safety Authority, is a natural logistics hub thanks to its position along the Milan–Bologna corridor and its proximity to the Ligurian ports. The Parma branch is part of a broader development plan based on three priorities: technological integration to offer real-time shipment traceability, expansion of export routes towards Central and Northern Europe, and the growth of value-added services such as contract logistics and customised inventory management.
