The British organization Ukmto reported on June 14, 2024, that the crew of the bulk carrier "Tutor" abandoned the ship because it became unmanageable and was taking on water. The vessel was struck by a Houthi maritime drone on June 12 while traveling off the coast of the Yemeni port of Hodeidah. However, only twenty-one sailors left the ship, as one of them, who was in the engine room at the time of the attack, is missing. The "Tutor" is now adrift in the Red Sea, and the Tsavliris Salvage Group has been activated for its recovery, which is expected to begin on June 17 with two ships. Most of the crew are of Filipino origin, and the government is coordinating with Ukmto to bring the men first to Djibouti and then repatriate them. The ship is owned by a Greek company and sails under the Liberian flag.
