CMA CGM completes FedEx Supply Chain acquisition

On 1 October 2026, CMA CGM announced that it had completed the acquisition of FedEx Supply Chain, FedEx's contract logistics subsidiary, for an enterprise value of $1.4 billion (around €1.2 billion). Its assets and nearly 10,000 employees now join CEVA Logistics, the French group's logistics company, almost tripling its contract logistics operations in North America. The integration adds around 3.2 million square metres of warehousing space across approximately 150 facilities, taking CEVA's presence in the Americas to more than 240 sites and around 20,000 employees. The transaction completes a process announced on 1 July.

For FedEx, the sale follows the June spin-off of its less-than-truckload business FedEx Freight. Chief executive Raj Subramaniam said the divestment allows the company to focus on high-value segments such as healthcare, automotive, aerospace and data centres. Alongside the closing of the transaction, CMA CGM and FedEx have launched multi-year commercial agreements. The French group becomes FedEx's preferred ocean carrier under a non-exclusive agreement, while in air freight the two companies will discuss a cargo capacity agreement covering strategic routes, including Asia-Europe, with the aim of improving aircraft utilisation and flexibility on long-haul services.

The integration of FedEx Supply Chain into CEVA Logistics goes beyond the additional warehouse footprint. The combination of digital and operational capabilities is expected to accelerate the adoption of automation and robotics across the North American network, while strengthening CEVA's expertise in healthcare, technology, consumer goods and retail distribution for managing complex supply chains between the United States and Canada. Chairman and chief executive Rodolphe Saadé linked the completion of the deal to the group's investment commitment in the United States, where it has operated for more than 25 years, and to its goal of offering customers integrated solutions across sea, air, land and logistics.

The acquisition adds to a series of similar deals completed by CEVA over the past two and a half years. On 29 February 2024, CMA CGM acquired 100% of Bolloré Logistics for €4.85 billion, the group's largest acquisition since it was founded in 1978. The company was subsequently integrated into CEVA, increasing its scale in air and ocean freight. On 5 November 2025, CEVA completed the acquisition of 100% of Borusan Tedarik, the company managing the operations of Turkey's leading domestic logistics operator, for $383 million (around €330 million). The agreement had been announced on 26 April 2025 and provided for Borusan Holding to sell its 69.47% stake and Borusan Yatırım the remaining 30.53%. CEVA thereby gained control of around 1.19 million square metres of warehousing space and approximately one million domestic full-truckload shipments a year, making Turkey its third-largest country by gross revenue.

The last acquisition before FedEx Supply Chain involved Italy. On 31 March 2026, CEVA completed the acquisition of 100% of Fagioli, the Reggio Emilia-based group specialising in exceptional transport and heavy lifting. The share purchase agreement was signed on 15 December 2025 and theItalian Competition Authority gave its approval the week before completion. Around 450 employees and a fleet of owned and leased vehicles joined CEVA, complementing Bolloré Logistics and Spedag Interfreight in project logistics. The value of the transaction was not disclosed.
