In mid-January 2026, Laghezza announced the acquisition and redevelopment of a warehouse in Sarzana (Liguria, Italy), designed as a proximity facility supporting local production supply chains. The site adds to the group’s existing assets in the area, taking covered bonded warehouse space to 30,000 square metres and total logistics areas managed by the company in the province of La Spezia port to more than 100,000 square metres.
The company explains that the platform serves local manufacturing activities, “with particular attention to the yachting sector, with the aim of creating a model in which the logistics operator takes on the role of a strategic bridge between industry and the supply chain, reducing distances, operating times and procurement complexity”. Group chief executive Massimo Folla adds that the investment “confirms our determination to grow and consolidate within the broader context of the emerging Zona Logistica Semplificata (Simplified Logistics Zone). The new warehouse is fully integrated with customs services, able to guarantee customers effective integration between logistics and customs solutions”.
During 2025, Laghezza consolidated its logistics expansion plan by increasing the operational capacity of bonded warehouses and hinterland areas linked to La Spezia, while also activating an additional inland hub in Piedmont, where the Pozzolo Formigaro logistics terminal was brought fully into operation. The facility now covers around 20,000 square metres in total, including 6,000 square metres of covered space, serving Ligurian ports and the junction between northern Italy and European markets.
On the customs operations front, the company accelerated digital innovation in 2025. In this context, it won the Bando Innovazione Pr Fesr Liguria 2021–2027 (Liguria ERDF Innovation Call 2021–2027) with the project “Isole Doganali e integrazione dei sistemi IT per l’innovazione organizzativa e dei processi” (Customs islands and integration of IT systems for organisational and process innovation). The initiative provides for an integrated and interoperable IT infrastructure and the replacement of previous systems with a new operational software, Sp1, following a logic of automation and standardisation of import-export procedures. The organisational model of the “customs islands” is based on small teams focused on specific customers, with a service-oriented approach and stated objectives of reducing time and costs, improving quality and delivering environmental benefits through more efficient processes.
The Transport Division also grew in 2025. By the end of 2024, the fleet had approached one hundred operational units, alongside strengthened operations in Vado Ligure, Livorno and Venice and an increasing focus on temperature-controlled transport. During 2025, Laghezza also expanded its training offering through the Laghezza Academy, which in September 2025 launched the 2025/2026 programme featuring four specialist courses developed in collaboration with training providers and aimed at companies and professionals seeking advanced skills in the customs field.
