Anas launches the 2024-2025 snow plan in Italy
Anas has announced its Snow Plan in collaboration with law enforcement to ensure road safety and accessibility during adverse weather conditions. From November 15 to April 15, 2025, the use of winter tires or carrying chains will be mandatory for motor vehicles in Italy. In the Aosta Valley, the requirement has been in place since October 15, 2024. CEO Aldo Isi stated that Anas will deploy 24-hour teams for immediate interventions in case of bad weather. Last winter, more than 11,000 salt-spreading and over 1,000 snow-clearing operations were conducted.
Intermodal train Between Poland and Barcelona
Polish transport and logistics company Clip Group has launched a rail service for containers and semi-trailers between the Polish terminal of Swarzedz and the Can Tunis terminal near Barcelona. Captrain will manage two weekly round trips, with the first train departing from Barcelona in the second week of November. The aim is to increase the frequency to five trips per week. The service, which can transport up to 38 intermodal transport units, aims to address the truck driver shortage and promote environmental benefits. Clip Group also seeks to further expand its services in Spain by leveraging the potential of the Mediterranean Corridor.
Circle increases stake in Accudire
Circle has announced an increase in its stake to 21% in Accudire, a Verona-based startup offering the e-Cmr platform in the Mediterranean area. The agreement also includes Zucchetti acquiring 24% of Accudire's capital. This investment will further strengthen Accudire, ensuring complete integration between Circle's logistics chain and the e-Cmr platform, along with collaboration with Zucchetti in the ERP and logistics sectors.
DB Schenker trials 35-meter road trains in Sweden
DB Schenker has launched a pilot project in Sweden to test 35-meter road trains capable of carrying up to 60 tons of cargo. The initiative aims to significantly reduce CO2 emissions, following approval from Swedish authorities. The project is conducted along a specific route between Trelleborg and Gothenburg, after new regulations in December 2023 allowed vehicles up to 34.5 meters. These extended vehicle units can reduce emissions by up to 6%, according to estimates by the Swedish Transport Agency. DB Schenker is also considering expanding the service to new routes and using electric tractors to continue its path towards sustainability.
Electric trucks by Exelentia for the Fire Brigade
Exelentia has delivered two small electric trucks to the Italian Fire Brigade, intended for the Central Fire Schools in Rome at the Capannelle complex. The Goupil G4 vans, which are zero-emission and feature a fixed bed, are a sustainable choice ideal for operating in tight environments such as historic centers and industrial complexes. This initiative confirms the Fire Brigade’s commitment to innovative and environmentally friendly solutions without compromising safety and operational efficiency.
