The sale of Iveco (excluding the Defence division, which will go to Leonardo) to the Indian conglomerate Tata has moved significantly ahead with the European Commission’s approval of the deal, issued on 14 November 2025. The request for assessment was submitted in Brussels on 23 October 2025. In a statement, the Commission said it had concluded that “the notified transaction would not raise competition concerns, given the companies' limited combined market position resulting from the proposed transaction. The notified transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure"
Meanwhile, Iveco has released its results for the third quarter of 2025, described as reflecting “the determination to stay the course and focus efforts”. The company said the two sale processes involving Tata Motors and Leonardo are progressing as planned. Regarding industrial vehicle production, it reported efforts “to balance prices and market share, protecting leadership in LCV cabs and introducing the Model Year 24”. On the financial side, both EBIT (with consolidated EBIT at 91 million euros) and net profit (16 million euros consolidated) fell compared with the same period in 2024.
