Bio LPG for asphalt production
Amplia Infrastructure, a company within the Autostrade per l'Italia group, is initiating Italy's first construction sector trial using bio LPG instead of petroleum-derived BTZ oil in asphalt production. The project, in collaboration with Liquigas, involves the use of ISCC Plus certified bio LPG at the Marcianise plant. This gas, derived from refining HVO bio diesel, offers the same performance as traditional LPG while reducing CO2 emissions by up to 80%. In 2024, Amplia produced 317,000 tonnes of bituminous conglomerates, 55% of which used warm-mix techniques, thereby reducing environmental impact.
