On 29 December 2025, the Ministry of Transport announced that, from 1 January 2026, tolls on the majority of Italian motorways will rise by 1.5%, due to the inflation adjustment scheduled for the coming year. This percentage was set by the Transport Regulation Authority. The ministry clarified that it had requested a freeze on the increase “until the new regulatory Economic and Financial Plans are defined”, but this request was unsuccessful.
The 1.5% increase will apply to all motorway concessionaires for which the procedure to update the relevant Economic and Financial Plans is under way. For Concessioni del Tirreno (A10 and A12 sections), Ivrea-Torino-Piacenza (A5 and A21 sections) and Strada dei Parchi, which are within an active regulatory period, tariff reductions for users are envisaged, in line with the respective concession agreements currently in force. An increase of 1.925% has been granted to the Salerno–Pompei–Napoli concessionaire, while a tariff adjustment of 1.46% applies to Autostrada del Brennero, whose concession has expired and is currently in the process of being reassigned.
