Lufthansa Cargo has unveiled its winter 2025-2026 timetable. The airline has outlined a strategy centred on the stability of global connections and increased cargo hold capacity. Alongside its main hub in Frankfurt, the company is relying on a European network that spans Munich, Vienna, Brussels and, since 2024, Rome-Fiumicino.
The most significant development concerns its partnership with Ita Airways. From next October, Lufthansa Cargo will market almost all of the Italian carrier’s bellyhold capacity on both continental and intercontinental routes, with the exception of the United States and Canada, pending regulatory approval. The agreement, launched last June, establishes an additional strategic hub in southern Europe and is expected to increase available capacity by up to 20 per cent, strengthening the group’s position to and from Europe as well as on international markets.
The winter programme also includes expanded frequencies and new destinations within the Lufthansa Group network. Austrian Airlines will increase flights from Vienna to Bangkok to two per day, while Brussels Airlines will boost its presence in Africa with additional weekly services to Lomé, Dakar, Conakry, Monrovia, Accra and Freetown. Discover Airlines will launch its Frankfurt–Seychelles route, adding further options for cargo transport.
On the dedicated freighter side, Lufthansa Cargo will continue to ensure fast connections with nearly all major economic centres, operating a stable fleet of Boeing 777s with up to 87 weekly rotations to 36 destinations. Almaty in Central Asia will return to the winter schedule, while the transpacific service from Ho Chi Minh City to Los Angeles will now include a stop in Shanghai, effectively opening a new direct link between China and North America. Already available for booking since late August, this service is part of a wider offer of 50 weekly frequencies to 17 Asia-Pacific destinations. In parallel, customers will benefit from 28 weekly flights to eleven North American destinations and four weekly connections to four South American cities.
The A321F fleet also plays a pivotal role, providing fast services on short- and medium-haul routes across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. From Frankfurt and Munich, up to 37 weekly connections will serve 20 destinations, supported by the recent expansion of the network with the opening of the Beirut cargo station last July.
“Our winter schedule clearly shows that Enabling Global Business is not just our mission, but a daily commitment,” said Ashwin Bhat, chief executive of Lufthansa Cargo. “With the integration of Ita Airways’ bellyhold capacity, the strengthening of our network and a broader dedicated freighter offer, we can provide our customers with more connections than ever. We will continue to monitor and adapt our network with flexibility to respond to evolving trade flows.”
The winter timetable will come into effect on 26 October 2025, with bookings available from 5 October. In addition to its own cargo services to 53 destinations, Lufthansa Cargo will offer extra capacity on up to 7,500 weekly flights to more than 350 global destinations, operated jointly with Lufthansa Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Discover Airlines, Ita Airways and SunExpress.
